Work in Progress

I’m currently working on two series: Alice in SF and Floods in Paris. I'm in the process of merging them through virtual reality art and traditional/digital printmaking, creating a sensorial discrepancy in the process. I wish to create environments contradicting each other, reflecting on the idea of misinformation, the difficulty to gather information and make sense of it, in connection with our perception of the reality.

Imagine a first environment, real, tangible, but you cannot see it you can only touch it.

Imagine then a second environment, virtual, abstract, you can only see it not touch it.

Imagine yourself in both environment at the same time.

How do you orient yourself ?

Painting from a new perspective

Quoting their website: "Tilt Brush lets you paint in 3D space with virtual reality.  Your room is your canvas. Your palette is your imagination. The possibilities are endless."
Using this new technology, I will create a new surrounding, half virtual, half  real, creating in the process, a bridge connecting techniques that would seem antithetical at first.

Virtual reality and Printmaking

Printmaking is a traditional way of creating multiple images from an original plate in relief, intaglio, lithography, or screen printing.
Digital  printmaking is an evolution of the traditional print media. The matrix is replaced by the iPad. The original image is "virtual" and doesn't exist in the tangible world unless it's printed.
