When we first started looking at places to stay, we came across a really fun piece of Amsterdam architecture: introducing to you the Dutch Staircases!!!
They are everywhere: in front of the building, behind the front door and anywhere inside the house or the apartment, you open a door and you find yourself facing a mountain of stairs!
Here’s some examples: Church, factory, home, hotel, offices, in stone or wood, with carpet or without.
It’s head turning, literally! and of course head spinning. Here’s a little video to give you an idea of how it makes you feel, going down the stairs for 1 minute non stop.
The stairs are of course the result of the very specific architecture we find here in Amsterdam, but I’ll keep that for next time ;-).
